Once upon a time, four blind people lived in a small village. They wanted to know what an elephant looked like, but they couldn't see it and had to touch it with their hands.
The short blind man first touched the elephant's ivory. He said, “I see. The elephant is as big and thick as a strong tree trunk, and it's smooth, just like the carrot.” The tall blind man touched the elephant's ears and said, “No, no! The elephant is like a big fan.” The old blind man touched the elephant's leg. He shouted, “No, no! The elephant is like a big pillar.” But the thin blind man grumbled, “Well, an elephant is not that big. It's just like a straw rope.” It turned out that he had touched the elephant's tail.
The four men disagreed with each other. They became sadder because of their different answers. Just then, a man walked by and asked, “What's wrong?” “We can't agree on what an elephant is like,” they said.
After hearing their words, the man said, “You each touched a different part of the elephant. This is why you don't agree with each other.” These blind men finally knew the truth. They all laughed together at their mistakes.
