n June 30, Huang Ying, a blind doctor, took part
in an important meeting. It was by the State
Council Information Office (国务院新闻办公室)
in Beijing. *Huang Ying became blind in both her eyes because
of a high fever when she was two, she didn't give up her
dreams. She believes she can do anything except see the world.

Huang made in 2015. That year, she took the gaokao. She was
the first student in Ningxia to take the using Braille (布莱叶盲文).
Before 2014, blind students in China couldn't take the gaokao in
Braille. They had to take exams to get into a few universities. And they could only study music
or massage (按摩). "I'm not good at music, so it like I had only one choice for my future," said
Huang. She is now a doctoral student at Wuhan University of Technology. She is also on social
media with more than 880,000 fans.
Luckily, in 2014, the gaokao began to offer Braille test . This let blind students take the exam
with other students. Since then, about 80 people in China have had their lives changed because of
this.
Looking back on the past 10 years, Huang is proud of what she has . "I've shown myself
that I really can do everything, except see," she said.
