阅读生词利器——合理猜测
在高考阅读题中词句猜测题常常涉及四种类型：一是熟词生义；二是完全不认识的单词；三是常见词汇构成的短语或句子；四是猜测文中代词的指代内容。
解决词句猜测题目的一个重要技巧是，考生要树立起上下文观念，学会“顺藤摸瓜”；同时借助词根词缀的知识，利用定义、近义表达、同位结构的解释作用，分析句子之间转折对比、因果照应等逻辑关系和线索，从而确定词句意义。

When the explorers first set foot upon the continent of North America, the skies and lands were alive with an astonishing variety of wildlife. Native Americans had taken care of these precious natural resources wisely. Unfortunately, it took the explorers and the settlers who followed only a few decades to decimate a large part of these resources.
