You must have seen many rivers in your life, but have you ever heard of stone rivers? Such rivers can be found in some parts of the world. Among them, the Big Stone River is a very amazing one.
The Big Stone River is the most interesting sight of Taganay National Park in Russia. Different from other rivers, it is filled with rocks and stones. Not a drop of water can be seen. Interestingly, as one comes near to the rocky river, the sound of running water can be heard. Rocks fell down from the mountains slowly and made the river of rocks.
The Big Stone River is about 6 km long and is made up of many small rocky rivers. It cuts through a thick forest like a real river. It is mostly about 200 metres wide, and in some places, it is up to 700 metres wide. Some of the rocks weigh up to 10 tons each and the layer of rocks goes down 6 metres deep.
Scientists believe it is the consequence of the movement of glaciers(冰川) about 10,000 years ago. At that time, ice covered the top of the mountains. As time went by, the ice turned into water. Seeing the amazing river is a great experience. The best way to experience this natural wonder is from above. Come and visit it when you come to Russia.

In 2017, 3-year-old Audrey Brown was found to have permanent(永久的) hearing loss. The little girl started wearing hearing aids(辅助物).
Audrey often heard some kids say, “Those hearing aids are ugly. You should never have worn these. Why are you wearing these?” So she brought it up to her doctor. “Maybe you can find something to put on the hearing aids instead,” her doctor advised. That might have been what started Audrey’s interest.
Audrey’s mum helped Audrey create the first pair of hearing aid charms, small parts that would hang under Audrey’s hearing aids, adding a bit of style and different colours to it.
“A lot of people started saying, ‘Oh, I like those. Are those earrings?’” Audrey said. “I said, ‘They’re hearing aid charms, but they’re close enough.’”
Audrey started making different hearing aid charm designs, testing them with her doctor to make sure they wouldn’t influence(影响) the hearing aids. Then she gave them away to other patients. “I saw that my confidence(自信) was going up, so I thought if other people could put on my charms, it would make them confident too,” Audrey explained.
Audrey has given away 175 pairs of hearing aid charms, helping other children with hearing loss feel more comfortable and confident. “It makes me really happy, and feel like I’m in my happy place where I can make others happy,” Audrey said.
