Ellie Laks is a girl who showed great worry for injured(受伤的) animals when she was young. By the age of 7, she was bringing home injured animals that she'd found, receiving no from her parents. Though they made her stop, Laks promised herself that one day she would have a place of her own to the animals she'd saved.
At college, Laks got her degree in Psychology and Special Education, a(n) step towards the realization of her dream. About 15 years ago, Laks visited a zoo in Tarzana, California.
