Ways to ride
One of the best ways cities can help cyclists is to make bike lanes. This is a lane just for cyclists, keeping them away from cars and buses. Just like car lanes, bike lanes usually have white or yellow lines on the ground. You can also see bike symbols. And they also mean, “No cars allowed!” More bike lanes mean more people ride bikes, and less air pollution for the Earth.

What if you don’t have a bike? Or just want one for a day? Many cities have “bike sharing” programmes, so everyone can borrow a bike. It’s a great green way to travel!
