一、完形填空
Making a difference doesn't have to be about doing big things. Small kind actions can also change the world in their own way. Last term, our class started a volunteer activity. At first, I was shy and didn't know what to help others. My teacher me to join the team that helps the elderly in the community.
Every weekend, we go to the community centre. We help the old people clean their rooms, read newspapers for them and just with them. They often tell us interesting stories about their past. I realized that spending time with them is the best gift we can give. One old grandma said my visits made her feel less , which touched me a lot.
Later, I more classmates to join our volunteer team. We also started to collect old books and clothes to to the children in mountain villages. These small things don't take much time or effort, but they bring warmth to everyone.
I believe everyone can make a difference. We wait for big chances to help others. Instead, we should start with small things around us. A smile, a helping hand, a kind word—they all . When we help others, we also make ourselves happier.
This volunteer experience has taught me the true meaning of giving. I will keep doing volunteer work and tell more people that it's to care for others and the world around us.
