People always say that we need try new things, but sometimes it can be scary to do so.
A few years ago, I hurt back. A friend said acupuncture(针刺疗法) helped her wounded knee. I had some doubts—not because it is Chinese medicine, because I'm afraid of needles. Still, I thought I'd try it.
Lying on the doctor's bed, I heard the needles tinkling(发出叮当声) in a metal bowl. I turned to have a look. How those needles were! I jumped up and home.
Recently, my back started to hurt again. This time, my friend said I could get a massage(按摩), so I went to have a try.
a few minutes, the doctor said my problem was serious. She took out some small glasses and a fire—I was about to try cupping(拔火罐).
I wanted to , but the pain on my back stopped me as I got up. I lay back down again.
When the doctor touched me, I jumped. Would it hurt? Would she me?
The glass felt cold. But it didn't hurt ! Within just a minute, my back was covered with small glasses. I probably looked like an ugly piece of furniture.
Now, I'm still ugly with the purple cupping , but my back feels great!

固定搭配not...but... 固定搭配not...at all意为“一点也不”,此处指完全不疼,选D;10.
1.A 2.C 3.D 4.A 5.B 6.C 7.C 8.A 9.D 10.B

Here comes something about nature and technology. Let's have a look!

Mice to the rescue!
Ten African mice have been trained to smell out illegal wildlife products like elephant tusks! Sadly, many endangered animals are killed for their body parts, which are then sold abroad illegally for use in food or "medicine". But the clever rats can find the smell of these things, helping prevent wildlife crime! During a recent test in Tanzania, Africa, the clever rats found almost all of the hidden things within minutes!
A pangolin(穿山甲) robot!
Meet "Plantolin", a lovely tree-planting robot! Riding around on two wheels, the robot digs into the ground to create holes before "pooping" tree seeds! The sweet robot was invented by high school student Dorothy from California in the USA. The teenager's clever design won the Natural Robotics Contest, an international competition to think up nature-inspired robots! It was then brought to life by engineers at the UK's University of Surrey.
The UK's top tree!
An ancient oak tree named after a Scottish band has been named the UK's Tree of the Year! Hidden away on a farm in Lochaber, Scotland, the over 400-year-old tree was unknown to scientists until woodland experts met the Skipinnish band! The musicians shared the location of their favourite tree—an empty place where they'd once played. Now it is known as the Skipinnish Oak, and scientists say it's one of the largest oaks in the area.

Sea turtles come back!
Endangered sea turtles are nesting in record numbers, more than 10,000 per year, which is twice the number back in 2022. Volunteers have stepped in across the Mediterranean to protect the animals' nesting beaches and care for injured or sick turtles. They're also helping the babies reach the ocean after they've hatched(孵出)—meaning record numbers of hatchlings are surviving, too!
