Mum’s birthday was coming. I wanted to buy her a beautiful dress that would cost 115 dollars, but I only had 60 dollars. I decided to do small jobs to earn some money so that I could buy it. I went outside to the garage（车库）and asked Dad if I could wash his car. “Dad, may I wash the car? I need some money.”
“Certainly, my child. I’ll pay you 10 dollars. ” After I washed the car, I got 10 dollars. Next I went to our neighbour Mrs White’s house. Her dog, Henry, needed a bath.
After I bathed Henry, she gave me 35 dollars. I was tired, wet and cold, but I still needed to work for money. I decided to go to ask Dad again. “Dad, can I clean the garden?”
“Yes, I will pay you 10 dollars for that. ” So, after I cleaned the garden, I had 115 dollars. The next day, I bought the dress for Mum. She said it was the best birthday present ever!
