A retirement home (养老院) is not just for humans any more (不再). In China, there is the world's first and only panda retirement home.
Ten old pandas live there. *Their average (平均的) age is nearly 30, about 100 in human years. Time has changed them: some have white fur around black eyes, some have bad teeth and can't bite bamboo shoots... But they are well looked after by the keepers.
Every panda has a special meal plan. Some take medicine in steamed corn buns. But some don't like the buns. So keepers give them more milk to get them to take the buns with medicine. And they also put vitamins (维生素) into some pandas' drinks.
Xu Yalin has looked after pandas for 29 years. She said, "Seeing them eat and sleep well makes me happiest."
