Fifty years ago, children lived a very difficult life. They only ate simple food every day, and they could hardly eat meat even in Spring Festival. They lived in small old houses, which were very cold in winter. They just had several pieces of clothes, most of the clothes were worn. They had no nice toys, they could only play with stones or ropes for fun. Many poor children could not go to school to learn. They walked to every place, it took them hours to go to a faraway village.
Today, things are quite different. Children can eat all kinds of tasty food every day, their meals are rich and healthy. They live in big bright flats, the houses are warm in winter and cool in summer. They have many soft and beautiful clothes for different seasons. They have lots of interesting toys to play with. Every child can go to school, they can learn more knowledge with the help of computers. They can go to school by bus, by bike or by their parents' car, it is very easy for them to travel to different cities.
Life today is quite different from that in the past. I think we are living a much happier life now, we should cherish the good life we have today.
