2026年作业本浙江教育出版社八年级英语上册外研版第32页答案
B
Seventeen-year-old James Dennehy has no arms. But he does not want anyone to feel sorry for him. He wants them to laugh! That is why he always tells jokes. He loves to make others happy. James lives a fulfilling(充实的) life. He says his strong toes(脚趾) help him. His sense of humour helps, too. In many ways, his life is like other teenagers' lives.
James doesn't need much help from his friends or parents. He can do many things without arms. He could use other parts of his body. So he uses his legs and feet. They work like arms and hands. He eats, writes, types, cooks, and brushes his teeth with his feet. He can even send text messages using his big toes. He has also learnt how to drive a car. James is a good basketball player, too. One PE teacher liked his free throws so much that he made a video and showed it to his team.
James' friends see him as just a friend. They do not think of him as disabled. They say he is a great boy with a great sense of humour. Once a little girl asked him why he has no arms. "I did not eat my vegetables when I was your age," he joked. "So be sure to eat yours!"
James' attitude(态度) is catching. He has lots of joy, and it passes on to others. His advice to other kids is: "Accept yourself. No one is the same as you. We are all special in our own ways. Be proud of your differences."
