A Hike with a Surprise
Last Sunday, Jake and his dad decided to hike to Pine Ridge. The weather forecast said it would be mild(温和的) and partly cloudy, with no rain. They packed sandwiches, a map, and a small first-aid kit(急救箱). They were going to reach the ridge(山脊) by noon and take photos of the valley below.
When they got halfway up, the wind picked up, and the sky turned gray. "It looks like a shower(阵雨) is on the way," Dad said. "We can't keep going up—let's head to that wooden cabin(小屋) we passed earlier." They hurried to the cabin, and just as they stepped inside, it started to drizzle(小雨).
