Is there a second Earth in the universe? How did the universe and life start? To find the answer to the questions, China will carry out four satellite missions.
Listening to the baby universe
The Hongmeng Program(鸿蒙计划) is the first mission. There are about ten satellites in the team. They will travel to the far side of the Moon. This place is quiet. There, they will catch signals from deep space. These signals will help us know what the early universe was like.

Flying around the Sun’s poles
Next, meet Kuafu-2(夸父二号). It will be the world’s first satellite to fly around the Sun’s poles. It will take special photos of the Sun. With its help, scientists will learn more about the solar activity(太阳活动).

Searching for the “Earth 2.0”
The third mission is called the Earth 2.0 (ET) mission. Its job is to look for a new home for humans in space.
Exploring unknown places in space
Now comes the fourth mission. The space observatory(天文台) called eXTP will fly beyond the Earth’s atmosphere(大气层). It will look at some unexplored(未经探索的) places in space, such as places around black holes. It will also do some experiments that people can’t do on Earth.
