China’s Space Dream: From Old Stories to Real Life
For thousands of years, the Chinese people have dreamed of traveling into space. Old stories like “Chang’e Flies to the Moon” show this wish. Today, that dream has come true.
In 1970, China successfully launched its first satellite, Dongfanghong-1, marking the beginning of its space journey. In 2003, Yang Liwei became China’s first astronaut in space on Shenzhou-5, which was a big step. More recently, China has made great achievements. The Chang’e spacecraft has landed on the moon and brought back useful moon rocks. The Tianwen-1 project successfully landed the Zhurong rover on Mars. Now the Tiangong space station has been completed, serving as a home for astronauts to do scientific research.
China’s space program shows not only the country’s scientific strength but also its wish to use space peacefully for all people. It encourages young people to learn science and reach for the stars. As Chinese astronauts often say during their “Tiangong Class” from space, “The universe is huge, and we will keep exploring it forever.”
Questions:
1. According to the text, what achievements has China made in space exploration?
2. If you had a chance to talk to a Chinese astronaut, what would you like to ask him or her? Why?

答案

1. According to the text, China has made these achievements in space exploration:
- In 1970, China successfully launched its first satellite Dongfanghong-1, which marked the beginning of its space journey.
- In 2003, Yang Liwei became China's first astronaut in space aboard Shenzhou-5, which was a major milestone for China's space program.
- The Chang'e spacecraft completed lunar landing and brought back useful moon rocks.
- The Tianwen-1 project successfully landed the Zhurong rover on Mars.
- The Tiangong space station has been completed, which acts as a dedicated base for astronauts to carry out scientific research in space.
2. If I had the chance to talk to a Chinese astronaut, I would ask: "What is the most unforgettable and touching moment you have experienced during your space missions?"
The reason is that I have only seen the wonderful and impressive results of China's space achievements from public reports, and I am curious about the real personal stories behind these great feats. I want to learn about the perseverance and effort the astronaut paid on the way to exploring space, which can inspire me to be more persistent when I face difficulties in my own study and life, and also help me understand the unique charm of space exploration more vividly.
