Mrs Gao gave us a unique piece of homework the day before yesterday—to record the wonders of nature through observation(观察). For me, it was more than just a project. It was a journey that brought me closer to the magic of life itself. Today I finished the report.

Observation Report: The Butterfly
①The life cycle of a butterfly goes through 4 stages. It begins with an egg. A butterfly must find a place to lay eggs. Plants like leaves are good choices. And the shapes, sizes and colours of them are different.
②A small caterpillar(毛虫)will come out of an egg when outer conditions are right.
The caterpillar starts to eat right away. It eats plants. At this stage, it grows very fast, and it keeps eating in order to have enough energy.
③When the caterpillar is ready, it will find a safe place. It hangs from a tree and builds a cocoon(茧)around itself. It hangs there and does not move until it becomes a chrysalis(蛹), but changes are happening inside.
④A butterfly breaks out of the chrysalis. It opens its wings and is ready to fly. It's a process that takes me from the discovery of a tiny egg to a fully-grown butterfly.

Long long ago, a boy lived in a village. One day, he found a small bamboo plant in the forest. He took it home and planted it behind his house. Every day, he watered it and waited for it to grow. But week after week, the bamboo stayed small. The boy felt sad. “Is it dead?” he wondered.
Several months later, the bamboo still looked the same. The boy almost threw it away. But one morning in spring, he saw a tiny green bamboo pushing up from the ground. Then, day by day, it grew taller and taller! In just a few weeks, it became a tall, strong bamboo tree. When the boy saw it, he couldn’t believe his eyes.
His grandpa explained, “The bamboo was busy growing under the soil all those months. This made the bamboo strong. Then it grew very fast!”
This story tells us something important. In our daily life, we work hard but may not see results quickly. Like the bamboo, we are growing inside even when we can’t see it. Studying, practising, and not giving up—these things help us get stronger,
