Ⅲ.短文阅读
Living in Space
Scientist Stephen Hawking once said, “The human race has no future if it doesn’t go to space.” Today, many countries plan to send astronauts to the moon. Some want to build space stations there. These stations will help humans prepare to visit and maybe live on Mars(火星) or other planets. Robert Zubrin, a space scientist, thinks humans should move to space. He advises to start with Mars. One CEO of a world-famous company agrees. His company(公司) builds rockets and spaceships. His big goal is to send one million(百万) people to live on Mars. This would give humans a new home if the earth faces serious problems.
However, not everyone thinks sending humans into space is a smart idea. Many say it’s too expensive. Also, space trips take a long time. A trip to Mars one way needs at least six months. Travelling so far can cause many health problems. Life in space is also very hard. For example, on the moon, the sunlight can be very dangerous to humans. People will have to stay indoors most of the time.
Even so, it seems that humans will try to live in space one day. In the future, we may see cities or even new ways of life on other planets.
