Quanjude is a famous Chinese restaurant. It has cooked roast duck for over 100 years. It's said that roast duck originated(起源) in Nanjing in the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Nanjing roast duck was taken to Beijing when Zhu Di moved the capital from Nanjing to Beijing. The most famous Quanjude restaurant opened in 1864 and started the glory(辉煌) of Beijing roast duck. In 2014, it opened the Beijing Roast Duck Museum.

The Beijing Roast Duck Museum is on the 7th floor of Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant. It was built to celebrate the 150th birthday of Quanjude. Quanjude now has about 100 branches in the world, so people from different places can enjoy the delicious dish.
There is a very big model of a golden duck at the museum. It welcomes visitors with open arms. Clay models(黏土模型) inside show how to cook ducks. On the walls are some pictures of important people and their talking about Beijing roast duck.
Beijing roast duck has a history of around 600 years. Quanjude is doing its best to get more young eaters for years. They hope more young people are interested in Beijing roast duck. Quanjude is famous for its gualu (hanging-oven) style of cooking the ducks. Ducks are roasted inside an open oven with non-smoky fruitwood to get a fruity smell and crispy(脆的) skin. Many eaters like to dip the fatty duck skin in sugar to get the special taste. People also use thin pancake to eat roast ducks. They put duck meat, skin, cucumber, onion and sauce in the pancake. Then they roll it up to enjoy the dish.
