Background knowledge building
Hello! Welcome to your English class in middle school. You may feel happy and a little worried. That's okay! This is not a big jump, but a small step forward(向前一步).
In primary school, you learned many good English basics(基础知识)—like hello, colours, animals and easy stories. You did very well! Now, in middle school, we will use that to learn more. It's like you have some bricks(砖). Now we will learn to build a small house with them. You will learn to talk more with friends, write a short note, or understand a simple(简单的) song.
This first part of our book is here to help you. It will help you remember old words, get used to(习惯于) your new class, and find that English is fun and useful for talking to the world. Let's start this happy journey together!
