我们生活的家园——地球,无时无刻不在转动,那么它是怎样转动的呢?又有着怎样的规律?带着这些疑问,让我们走进今天的阅读吧!
The Earth is always moving, even though you don't feel it. One way the Earth moves is by spinning around an imaginary line(假想线). One end of the line would come out of the Earth at the South Pole(南极). The other end of the line would come out of the Earth at the North Pole. This line is called the Earth's axis(地轴). Look at the Earth's axis in the picture. Imagine you could look down at the North Pole from space. You might see the Earth turning counter clock wise(逆时针方向). This is the opposite of the direction that hands on a clock move. Another way to think of it is that the Earth turns from the west to the east.
About every 24 hours, the Earth makes one rotation. A different part of the Earth faces the Sun as the Earth rotates. The Earth rotates at almost the same speed each day.
