There are different types of plants all around us. We only know some of them in the gardens or in the markets. Today I will introduce two kinds of plants you might not know.
The diatom(硅藻) is one of the smallest plants in the world. A drop of water may have about 500 of them. They are so small that you can see them only through a microscope. They live in water and that is their home.
The redwood tree is one of the largest plants in the world. It can grow very tall, about 85 metres. It can live a very long life. Some redwood trees are 2,000 years old. They have cones. The cones are their fruits. Just as the apples are the fruits of the apple trees.
