Think about someone you admire(钦佩). Their success didn’t come easily.
Yuan Longping is the father of hybrid rice. He worked hard all his life to help people have more rice. He got over many difficulties.
Dr Wu Mengchao is the father of Chinese hepatobiliary surgery(肝胆外科). He saved lives for almost 80 years. He did over 16,000 surgeries. He loved his work very much.
In 1969, Tu Youyou became the head of a research team. She wanted to find a cure for malaria. They did many experiments. It was difficult, but they didn’t give up. In 1972, they succeeded. She won a Nobel Prize in 2015.
Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. He believed mistakes were important. He said, “If I find 10,000 ways that don’t work, it’s not failure. It means I am closer to success!”
Success may not come quickly. Pablo Picasso(巴勃罗·毕加索) became famous and rich during his lifetime. But Vincent Willem van Gogh(文森特·威廉·梵高) only sold one painting when he was alive. He never stopped painting. He made over 2,000 artworks. Now, many people love his paintings and remember him.
These people all have one thing in common(共有的). They never gave up no matter what happened.
