With this year drawing to an end, our school's traditional Play Festival is coming up. Every year at this time, the students in our school are busy practising their plays for the festival. And the festival means a lot to me.
I had my first show at the Play Festival two years ago. We played Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Many students in my class wanted to play a part. I wanted to play Veruca Salt, the "bad" young girl. However, my teachers thought I'd be perfect as an Oompa Loompa, the worker at the chocolate factory. I was a little bit sad, but I still tried hard to do my part well.
After my acting in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I found it interesting to act out plays and decided to do better next time. I was good at reading aloud and I knew I had to use this to my advantage. Last year, we played Pinocchio. I wanted to play the part of the narrator(旁白员). I was the only girl going for the part, and luckily, I won it. My mum made me a black and gold dress to wear when narrating. It did look great on the night of the festival.
Now, I still keep the dress in my wardrobe(衣柜). Every time I see it, I think of the beautiful night. This year, we will play Hua Mulan. Coming soon...
