解析
【分析】
解决英语信息还原题需紧扣上下文的逻辑关系(如因果、指代、假设等),先明确全文主题是“耳虫(earworms)”的相关内容,再逐一分析每个空格前后的语境:
1. 第1空后提到“这就是为什么它是常见的事”,需补充耳虫的普遍性,对应体现多数人经历耳虫的选项;
2. 第2空前问耳虫产生的原因,空后提到“他们做研究”,需引出研究主体;
3. 第3空前问大脑重复歌曲开头的原因,空后解释远古用歌曲传信息,说明原因未明确,对应“谜”的表述;
4. 第4空前说耳虫让人不舒服,空后列举解决方法,需引出有避免耳虫的办法;
5. 第5空前说有解决方法,空后说“享受耳虫”,需对应假设方法无效的情况。
【解析】
1. 第1空:后文“That's why it is seen as a common thing”说明需体现耳虫的普遍性,G选项“A study shows that 90 per cent of people experience earworms”符合语境,故1选G;
2. 第2空:前文提出问题“Why do we get earworms?”,后文“They have been doing some research”说明研究主体是科学家,E选项“Scientists have studied earworms for years”衔接上下文,故2选E;
3. 第3空:前文问大脑重复歌曲开头的原因,后文解释远古用歌曲传信息,说明原因尚未明确,A选项“This is still a mystery”符合逻辑,故3选A;
4. 第4空:前文说耳虫让人不舒服,后文列举避免耳虫的方法,F选项“Luckily, there may be some ways to avoid an earworm”承上启下,故4选F;
5. 第5空:前文说有避免的方法,后文说“享受耳虫”,对应假设方法无效的情况,C选项“What if none of these ways work?”符合语境,故5选C。
【答案】
1. G 2. E 3. A 4. F 5. C
