「情境 素材 氢氟酸中毒事件」「2026 浙江杭州余杭期末」
On September 9th, 2025, a 52-year-old woman surnamed Tu from Hangzhou had a terrible accident while walking on a piece of waste ground. She fell after stepping on a plastic bucket containing hydrofluoric acid (氢氟酸)—a highly dangerous chemical! Then she was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The doctors told her family that her chances of survival were low. Five days later, Tu died.
Tu’s daughter posted on social media: “Mom left us too soon, in a way we cannot understand. I hope there will be no more accidents in heaven.”
Actually, hydrofluoric acid is a colourless solution(溶液) that can dissolve (溶解) metals and glass, and is often used in industrial fields. It is sometimes called “bone-melting water (化骨水)” because it can damage bones when it touches the skin. This acid is highly dangerous, and even a small amount can be deadly. Unfortunately, the plastic bucket that Tu stepped on was so badly corroded (腐蚀) by the acid that it broke easily.
Experts warned that if exposed, we must act
immediately. First, take off all clothing with chemicals on it at once. Then, wash the skin with large amounts of water. After that, seek medical help right away.
After the accident, the police arrived to block off and clean up the scene. During the process, they found two more buckets of hydrofluoric acid. Then, the police discovered that the chemicals had been left behind by a wall cleaner. The man left these buckets in his father’s house which once stood in the waste ground. When he moved away in 2015, he just left the buckets there. This cleaner is now detained (拘留) by the police. According to legal experts, he could face up to seven years in prison for improper handling of dangerous chemicals.
