[2025 原创]Have you ever wondered what happens when robot animals meet real pets? I had this experience when I borrowed a robot seal called Paro for a research project. Later, I also got a robot cat that looked very real.
When neighbourhood children visited, they showed an interest in the robot seal, but only for a short time. Our pet rabbit, Topsey, didn’t care about the robot at all. One child said, “Topsey is sad because we pay too much attention to the robot.” But I think Topsey was actually happy when the children played with something else!
I was curious about how other pets would react, so I took the robots to meet different animals. I filmed these meetings and posted some videos. In total, I made videos with two rabbits, three cats, and two dogs meeting the robot pets.
Here’s what I discovered: the pets didn’t think the robots were real animals. They mostly ignored them. To make interesting videos, I sometimes had to hide pet food behind the robot to get the animals to come closer. This taught me not to believe everything on social media!
Scientists are studying how animals and robots interact. They want to know if robots can communicate with animals or even control their behaviour. Some robots use movement, sounds, or vibrations to “talk” to animals. However, we can watch what animals do, but we can never really know what they are thinking or feeling.
This made me wonder: if we use robots with our pets, what about using them with people we love?

根据“I had this experience when I borrowed a robot seal called Paro for a research project.” 故选A项。
根据“... the pets didn’t think the robots were real animals. They mostly ignored them.” 故选A项。
根据“To make interesting videos, I sometimes had to hide pet food behind the robot to get the animals to come closer.”
根据“However, we can watch what animals do, but we can never really know what they are thinking or feeling.” 故选A项。
