There are some cats living on the Great Wall, especially (尤其) at the Mutianyu Great Wall. People call them “Great Wall cats”.
There were no Great Wall cats at the Mutianyu Great Wall before. *In the 1990s, some stray cats (流浪猫) came to live near restaurants and shops at the foot of the Mutianyu Great Wall. Later, more visitors came and gave them enough food, and fewer big animals hurt them. So more and more cats stayed there. Now there are about 20 cats there.
Workers there look after them well. They build a “Great Wall Cats’ Home”, give them food and water and help hurt or sick cats.
Now Great Wall cats are very popular. Many people go to the Mutianyu Great Wall to visit them. They enjoy playing with them very much.
