新素材 登山添"机械助手"(2025·深圳期中改编)① In the recently concluded Qingming Festival holiday, an exciting innovation appeared in China's tourism industry. Robotic exoskeletons(机械外骨骼), similar to special robot outfits, stepped in as great helpers for tourists, highlighting the country's move towards "smarter" tourism.
② At Mount Tai in Shandong, some visitors didn't want to walk all the way to the top. Standing over 1,500 metres high with over 7,000 steps, Mount Tai is a difficult climb. So, they waited in long lines to rent "robotic exoskeletons". These robots were so popular that many people waited two hours to get one.
③ Using the robot costs money. You can pay by the hour or by the route. Usually, it's 80 yuan for three hours. Mr Li said with the robot, it takes half the time to climb a steep(陡峭的) part of the mountain. Yan Lidong, a 26-year-old from Beijing, tried it and said, "I don't want my legs to be too tired. My friend tried to climb Mount Tai in October but couldn't finish. He rested in bed for two days with shaking legs."
④ Mount Tai isn't the only place with these high-tech helpers. Mount Huangshan in Anhui will let visitors use smart knee straps and walking sticks later this month. They have been testing these since February. Indeed, the robots reduced the physical burden of climbing a lot. The travel website Tuniu said AI products and new tourism services can attract young people.
⑤ The recent Qingming Festival holiday showed China's progress in modernizing tourism. Years ago, smart tourism mainly meant reliable phone and Wi-Fi signals at tourist sites. Now, it's about AI-powered smart devices. With these tools, travelling will definitely become more convenient and enjoyable.
