As a famous scientist said, “People must move into space. Once we move into space and build our new countries, our future will be safe.” But not everyone thinks that sending people to space is a smart idea. Many think it’s too expensive.
Today, India, China, Russia and Japan are all planning to send astronauts to the Moon. Some of them want to create space stations between 2022 and 2030. These stations will make it easier for people to visit and later live on Mars or other planets.
Robert, a rocket scientist, wants to start with Mars. Why? Because he thinks that sending people to Mars will make us learn a lot. For example, we should think about how to live well in a very different place. SpaceX is a company(公司）that builds rockets. The CEO says that we should build a country on Mars, but not just a small one. He doesn’t want to send just a few people, but millions of people.
