Today is a typhoon day. We do not go to school today. I look out of the window and see the trees dancing in the wind. I'm a little afraid. I want to learn about typhoons, so I search on the Internet.
The typhoon is a very strong wind with a lot of rain. It starts over the warm sea. First, the sun warms the sea. The warm air goes up, and new air turns around and around fast.
The typhoon has an "eye" in the middle. It is very calm there. No wind, no rain. But outside the "eye", the wind and the rain are very strong and heavy.
When a strong typhoon comes, shops are not open. We need to prepare some food and water at home. Children must not go to school. People must not go outside.
Now I feel better. Knowing more about typhoons makes me less afraid!
