Grade 8 students at Sunshine Middle School know that some people in Africa still don't have enough clean water. So last month, they took part in a meaningful activity—helping build clean water well(井) in Africa.
The activity started in 2018 and has lasted for seven years. Each year, students offer a helping hand by raising money. This year, they plan to raise about 10, 000 to build the seventh well.

To experience how millions of people in Africa get their water every day, they carried buckets(桶) of water from Moonlight River to school. They had to walk about 6 kilometres. The heavy buckets made them truly feel how difficult it is to get clean water in poor areas.
One water well can provide clean and safe drinking water for over 500 people in Africa. A Grade 8 teacher also took part in the walk. He said, "I always tell my students that this is the most meaningful teaching and learning I have ever been a part of."
This activity not only teaches students to care for others but also sends hope to people far away through action.
