Two pandas, Zhi Shi and Zhi Ma, came to Harbin from Chengdu on August 11. On November 18, the Sun Island Giant Panda Pavilion celebrated the pandas’ 100-day stay. The keepers prepared (准备) lots of fruits for the pandas.
They live a good life in Harbin now. Every day, they eat fresh bamboo, carrots, apples and specially made foods. The keepers also hide snacks in bamboo tubes (竹筒) and toys. *It’s like a fun game for the pandas to find these yummy foods. This also teaches them to find food by themselves, just like in the wild. The pavilion also has wooden climbing frames (木质攀爬架). They are for them to climb and sharpen their claws (爪子). When the weather is too cold, the keepers will move them indoors to keep them safe.
