Everyone has small shortcomings(缺点), but facing and changing them helps us grow. I had such an experience last term.

In English class last term, I always felt nervous when the teacher asked questions. I was afraid of speaking in front of others. However, I didn't give up. I decided to practise step by step. I practised speaking English in front of a mirror and answered simple questions in class. Now, I feel much more confident. I dare to speak out loud in class.
I realise that small steps can lead to big changes. Growth needs courage and patience.
