Many students think learning English is boring. But things are different in Chengdu. According to the West China Metropolis Daily, the students from Jitou Middle School in Chengdu play cards in their English classes. Are they gambling(赌博)? No, they are learning English. The students think this way of learning English is interesting.
The card game is different from traditional ones. There is an English letter on each card. These cards have 26 English letters on them and the number of each letter is different. For example, there are eight letters about b and two letters about z.
How do they play the card game? When the students get the cards, they need to spell English words with the letters and then write them down in their notebooks. A student will become the victor of the game if he or she can spell the most English words and tell a story by using these words. Then he or she will get a gift.
These special cards are from Tian Jingyun, the head teacher in this school. He hopes this game can not only help the students remember English words, but also bring more fun into learning.
