"Madness" Lives Inside a Young Brain
We see people laugh or cry. But their real emotions may be hidden. What if we can see them? In the new movie Inside Out 2(《头脑特工队2》), emotions are little, colourful people.
Riley's brain is home to many emotions. When she is a kid, five emotions live there: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust. Now, Riley goes into puberty(青春期). Another four emotions come: Anxiety(焦虑), Envy(羡慕), Ennui(无聊) and Embarrassment(尴尬). The newcomers make Riley different.
Puberty usually starts at 10 or 11 years old. If you could take a tour inside your brain, you would see a lot going on there. It is busy building new cells(细胞) and letting less important ones go. This can make you feel emotions in a very strong way. Just look at how Riley feels when she gets up one day: "I'm too gross(恶心的) to go to the camp or anywhere ever again." Uh-oh, "that's a preview(预告) of the next 10 years," says Anger.
"But it's OK not to be perfect," said the movie's director Kelsey Mann. "You can find a sense of self-acceptance(自我接受感) with who you are right here and now."
