Jane Goodall, one of the world’s most famous ethologists(动物行为学家), was born in England in 1934. Her love for animals started early—she even kept a pet chimpanzee toy as a child, which sparked her curiosity about these smart animals.
In 1960, at the age of 26, Goodall traveled to Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania. There, she began studying wild chimpanzees, a task no one had done long term before. For over 60 years, she watched their daily lives closely: how they built nests, looked after their young, and worked together in groups. Her biggest discovery shocked the scientific world—she found that chimpanzees use tools, like sticks to get insects(昆虫) from trees. This changed the old idea that only humans could make and use tools.
Goodall didn’t stop at research. She wanted to protect chimpanzees and their habitats(栖息地). In 1977, she founded the Jane Goodall Institute, which works to save chimpanzees and teach people about environmental protection. She also became a UN Messenger of Peace, traveling around the world to speak about caring for nature. Even in her later years, she kept advocating(提倡) for animals and the planet.
Goodall died in 2025 at the age of 91. Her work not only developed science but also encouraged millions of young people to take action for wildlife and the Earth.

根据第一段中的“she even kept a pet chimpanzee toy as a child, which sparked her curiosity about these smart animals”可知,她小时候有过一只黑猩猩宠物玩具,它激发了她对这些聪明动物的好奇心。
根据第二段中的“Her biggest discovery shocked the scientific world—she found that chimpanzees use tools…This changed the old idea that only humans could make and use tools.” 故选A。
根据第二段中的“This changed the old idea that only humans could make and use tools.”
