Ⅱ. Read the passage and complete the tasks(阅读短文并完成任务)★
As a seasoned traveller who visited over 10 countries before age 26,I can confidently say Iceland is a must-see. When I visited the capital,Reykjavik, during the last week of May,I was amazed by the stunning snow-capped mountains, charming streets and incredibly friendly people—not to mention the unforgettable experiences like exploring waterfalls.
Recently,I spoke with Ann Peters of a tour agency about visiting Iceland. According to Peters, the weather is best in Iceland during the summer months when average temperatures can range from $10°\mathrm{C}$ to $15°\mathrm{C}$ and there can be nearly 24 hours of daylight. So June,July and August are the most popular months to visit Iceland. Actually,in 2023,Iceland had over 1.9 million visitors in June and over 2 million visitors in July and August.
But Peters told me that while you book a trip with your desired weather in mind, you might experience the exact opposite. “The weather in Iceland is influenced by its location in the North Atlantic, where warm air from the Gulf Stream meets the cold Arctic air, resulting in frequent and dramatic weather changes,” she says.“In a single day,you might encounter sunshine, rain, wind and even snow, regardless of the season.”
The best time to see the northern lights is between September and March, during autumn and spring. But even though Iceland is one of the best places to see the northern lights, catching a glimpse of the amazing lights isn’t warranted. “The conditions need to be just right:clear skies and strong solar activity,” says Peters. If spotting the lights is on your bucket list,Peters recommends booking your stay at countryside locations and giving yourself 5—10 days of flexibility to increase your chances.
Peters recommends purchasing a Reykjavík City Card while you are in Iceland, which provides access to many of the city’s museums and swimming pools, unlimited use of public transportation and discounts at various other attractions. The card also includes entry to the Reykjavík Maritime Museum, the National Gallery of Iceland and Arbae Open Air Museum.

Ⅱ.1.C 2.B 3.A 4.C
②词义匹配:Guaranteed(有保证的、确定的)与语境反义契合,代入后意为“看到极光并非有保证的”;③排除干扰:Approved(被批准的)、Missed(错过的)、Appreciated(被欣赏的)均与“条件是否满足、能否看到极光”的核心逻辑无关。
5. The article describes the author's travel experience in Iceland, discusses the best travel time, unpredictable weather, aurora viewing tips, and introduces the useful Reykjavik City Card for visitors.
