A very strong earthquake, with a magnitude(震级) of 6.8, hit Morocco late at night on Sept 8, 2023. At that time, Sed was away from his family home in the small town of Tamaloukte, near the epifocus(震中) of the earthquake. He hurried back home to save his family through the broken buildings that covered the roads. Volunteers provided Sed's family with a tent, warm clothes, and food to help them live through the first part of the earthquake. The Moroccan Red Crescent and the Qatar Red Crescent helped Sed's family as they dealt with the things that they had lost.
The earthquake is very cruel(残酷的). On the morning of April 3, 2024, a 7.3-magnitude earthquake hit the sea area near Hualien, Taiwan Province. As of April 8, the quake had killed 13 people and injured more than 1,140 people. There had been more than 20 aftershocks(余震) of magnitude 5 or above in Hualien, as of April 10.
In the face of the difficult situation, it's impossible to bring back what people have lost, but offering a hand in time will help families like Sed's rebuild their lives. This kind of help is just the first step. However, it helped people bring closer together.
