① laugh at 嘲笑
② 用作名词，意为“笑，笑声”
eg: give a laugh 大笑一声
a hearty laugh 开心的笑声
注意:表示“微笑”用 smile，可作不及物动词，也可作名词。
2. progress n. 进展，进步
① make progress 取得进步
② 用作不及物动词，表示“进展，前进”，其后常接 in，表示“在……取得进展”。
eg: He is progressing in his studies.
他在学业上有进步。
注意:progress 用作名词时，是不可数名词，不能误用为可数名词。
3. mention vt. 提及；说起
①过去式和过去分词都是 mentioned
eg: He mentioned something about the party, but he didn't say when it was.
他提及了关于聚会的一些事，但他没有说聚会的时间。
② Don't mention it. 不客气。
注意:表示“向某人提起某事”应说“mention sth. to sb.”。
