People think that dragons can bring good luck. So there are dragons on roofs, walls and so on. The Nine Dragon Screen outside the Huangji Gate is very amazing. It's 29.4 metres long.

There are six pairs of lions in the palace. The biggest pair is in front of the Taihe Gate. The male lion(雄狮) is on the east side. He plays with a ball. The female lion(雌狮) is on the west side. She plays with her baby. They protect the palace together.
There is a pair of kylins(麒麟) in front of the Cining Gong. They look very special. The kylin has a body like a horse. It is golden. On its head, there is a long horn(角). It's a symbol of beauty and peace.
