Are you worried if you go out without bringing some cash(现金)? In the past, you might answer “yes”. But today, there’s no need to worry. That’s because you can pay for nearly everything by e-payment(电子支付) in China.
The most common way of e-payment is by using QR codes(二维码). When you pay for something, you can either scan(扫描) the code of the seller, or let the seller scan the code on your phone. Your money will then go to the seller through online banks.
People in China use e-payment services from Alipay, WeChat Pay and Apple Pay. WeChat Pay is the most popular. Tencent made WeChat and it says that about 60 percent of people in China now use WeChat Pay.
More countries pay the easy way. WeChat Pay has even been used in foreign countries. Several foreign countries such as Thailand, Japan and Canada now use WeChat Pay. It is very useful to the Chinese visitors in these places.
