B(真题·舟山)
When I was a teenager, I didn't like PE. This was because we had to run, do sit-ups and practise the long jump and high jump almost every day. None of these sports looked fun to me. And none of them seemed to suit(适合) me. I was only a little interested in some ball games, like volleyball and table tennis. Since I was fat, I was always the last to finish a 1,000-metre race. In the long jump, my personal best was 116 cm. Because I wasn't good at PE, over time, I started to hate it.
But PE seems to have changed a lot since then. Schools are trying to make it more interesting. In Hangzhou, some PE teachers are now teaching their students to climb trees. The children were afraid to try at first. But with the encouragement of their teachers, they have slowly started to become braver. Some of them are now able to climb to the treetops.
The news made me think of an experience of my own. I first heard about tree-climbing classes when I was in college. Because I had never climbed a tree before, I found the idea of it to be exciting. One night, after making sure that there was nobody around, I tried to climb a tree in my college. It was then that I found how hard it was to pull myself up.
Most of you are probably not as heavy as I was. And you can probably do better in PE than I could. But some of you may find my experiences familiar. If you hate PE, it's probably because you haven't found the right sport, or sports, yet. After college, I developed an interest in cycling on my bike. I came to realize that I wasn't born to hate sports. Nobody, in fact.
