What will you do if you and your best friend have different ideas? At first, I didn't know what to do when I found that my best friend Karina disagreed with me on some
things.
When we first met in a summer camp, we got along so well.
But then something happened at a picnic.
"Did you hear about the news about the shopping centre?" asked one of our friends Levar. "They want to cut down lots of trees to make room for a shopping centre."
"That's terrible. We have to stop that," I said.
"I disagree," said Karina. "The shopping centre would give new jobs to people in need."
"But animals would lose their homes," I said. "I want people to have jobs, but it doesn't mean cutting down trees."
I wished Karina could agree with me about saving the trees, but she had her reasons for her opinion. I was so angry that I didn't talk to her for days.
Later, my mother knew it and said to me, "No two people are the same. You should respect each other. And no matter what happens, the difference doesn't mean losing a good friend."
After listening to my mum's words, I said sorry to Karina. We still don't totally(完全地) agree on the shopping centre, but we understand each other better now. We are still good friends.
