第一节 阅读短文,根据语篇内容,在方框内的缩写文章中,填入与短文意思最符合的单词,每空一词。
I was once a volunteer in a village in England. It was quite different from my home in Sweden. Jane, one of the volunteers from Tanzania, tried to help some homeless
people.
She sent all her pocket money to help them. It meant that she didn't have much food to eat, and she had no money to go anywhere outside the village or buy any clothes.
I was so moved and I thought I had to do something too. So when I bought food one day, I decided to buy her some rice. I started talking to the woman (named Gloria who was also a volunteer) in the shop about my friend Jane.
The woman looked at me, being surprised. "Does she eat noodles?" she asked. "Yes," I replied.
She immediately started filling a bag with noodles, cookies, sweets and other things until the bag was full. "Give her this for me." I couldn't believe it but cried happily.
Imagine the look on Jane's face when I gave her the bag! She was so happy. A few weeks later, she met Gloria in the shop and thanked her very much.
These two wonderful women really showed me what true kindness is. And the impression (印象)will be kept in my mind for the rest of my life!

Once I volunteered in a village in England. It was not the 1.
Jane 3.
What a great experience it was.
