Wang Wei, a People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy pilot. In 2001, US army plane entered China's airspace. Wang was ordered to track (追踪) it. The US plane ignored (无视) warnings and (sudden) changed direction, colliding (相撞) with Wang's fighter jet. Wang had to parachute (跳伞) into the sea. Over 100,000 people searched for him 14 days, but he was never found. Later his body was found. He was confirmed (证实) dead at the age of 33.
Today, 24 years later, he is still remembered by the (China) people.
Every year around April 1st, the anniversary of his sacrifice (牺牲), people get together to remember him. This year, flowers and models of China's newest fighter jets were placed at (he) tomb in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. CCTV showed (model) of the J-20 and J-35 stealth fighters (隐形战斗机), as well as the J-15 carrier-based jet (舰载机), to pay respect to Wang.
Wang's (brave) and patriotism (爱国精神) are remembered by everyone. Students also (lay) flowers. One student, Zhang Chenyu, said, "Wang's action to protect the sky at the cost of his life is very inspiring. I want to be a solider like him I grow up."
Wang's spirit of courage and sacrifice will always be remembered. China now has more advanced fighter jets the J-20, but his bravery must continue to encourage future generations to protect the country.
