On January 13, 2026, a 10-day-old lamb in Ningxia became famous online for “playing dead (装死)”.
It happened when the lamb was up for sale. During the sale, it fell over and looked lifeless (无生命的). So the buyer thought it was sick and left.
But after the buyer left, it quietly stood up and jumped around happily. Its owner Jin Xiaolin took a video of this and posted it online. Soon, the video got lots of attention (注意). *Some people wanted to buy the lamb at a high price, but Jin said no.
Jin wanted to use the lamb’s fame (名气) to let more people know the local food, like Ningxia lamb and goji berries. Now, many visitors come to the village to see the lamb. It has become the “traffic ambassador” and helped the village greatly.
