Last night, a terrible flood hit our village after three days' heavy rain.
When the flood came, my parents and I were sleeping. After we woke up and ran out, we found water was everywhere. We had to get to a higher place to keep safe. The flood washed away many houses. As a result, lots of people lost their homes. Luckily, some policemen and volunteers came. They saved my family and many other villagers at last.
The flood was really terrible, but we can beat it if we pull together and give love to one another.

A terrible snowstorm
Last winter, a heavy snowstorm hit our city.
I was doing my homework at home when the wind started to blow hard outside. The snow kept falling for more than six hours. Soon everything outside was covered in deep snow. There was a big power cut because of the heavy snow. Suddenly, the light went out and it became really dark. My parents and I had to light candles and stay together. The next day, the snow was still very thick on the road. People had to walk slowly to clear the snow in front of their houses. Many volunteers also came to help clear the streets.
The snowstorm was really terrible, but we felt warm when everyone tried their best to help each other. We all knew we could get through the bad weather together.
