"A good book is easy to find. " That is the message on a sign at Guanlao's two - storey home in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Guanlao's house has lots of books. He changed his house into a library. People can borrow books without paying. The man hopes his library can help people fall in love with reading, especially (尤其) the young.
His library is called the Reading Club 2000, including all kinds of books. You don't need a membership card or an ID card to borrow books. You can keep the books or return them when you finish reading. Guanlao says, "I hope people will share their books with their neighbours after they finish reading. "
Over 20 years ago, Guanlao started his dream by putting 50 books outside his house. Many kind people donated (捐赠) books these years, so his library is full of books. Guanlao said, "People just leave boxes of books outside my house. I don't even know who they are. " Guanlao also donates books to schools in poor places.
Guanlao is very sure about what he wants to do. He says, "My job is to give away old books to others at no cost (免费) and help people learn through books. "
