B)阅读短文,从短文后A至F六个选项中选出五个可以填入空白处的最佳选项。
Long long ago, the snake and the frog were friends. At that time, the snake had four legs, while the frog had no legs and could only crawl(爬行) forward on its stomach. 41 So the frog was loved by people, but the snake was not.
When the snake found that it was disliked by people, it felt really bad. People would always scream and run away in fear whenever they saw it. 42 Slowly, this anger grew stronger. Finally, the snake started biting people to get back at them.
This was known by the Jade Emperor. 43 The snake, however, showed no sign of changing its ways. The Jade Emperor became very angry and ordered the snake's four legs to be cut off as punishment for its bad behaviour. Then, the Jade Emperor gave the snake's four legs to the warm - hearted frog.
44 It still helped people catch pests. The snake lost its legs and was very sad. But gradually the snake realized its mistake, so it decided to change. It stopped doing bad things and even learned from the loong how to prevent floods by controlling water. After the snake died, its body was used for medicinal researches as required. The Jade Emperor saw that the snake had corrected its mistake, he was pleased. 45
