On 8 July, photos of the world's rarest (最稀有的) gorillas (大猩猩) were shared with the world. The Cross River Gorillas were found in the Mbe Mountains in Nigeria.
There are only around 300 Cross River Gorillas left in the wild. They live in mountain areas in south - eastern Nigeria and in Cameroon. (1)
These animals have smaller heads, longer arms and brighter hair than other kinds of gorillas. There are two reasons why they are so rare: (2) It was once thought that Cross River Gorillas were extinct (灭绝的)—till their pictures were taken in the 1980s.
